Lord, make me ready.

In 2 days I will be boarding a plane to head to KENYA. I have spent so much time looking forward to this journey and I cannot believe it is finally here. Friends and fam, I absolutely can't wait to be serving in Africa! AH! This past week of prep has been such a whirlwind, from meds, to packing, and weighing, and unpacking, praying and reweighing, target runs, lots of time with family, friends, Kyle, and PLENTY of dr. pepper. The Lord has blessed every part of this trip and saying He is faithful is such an understatement.

When I first felt called to serve through Buckner in Africa, freshman year, the Lord said wait. So I did. As usual His plans are so much greater than my own, and He opened the door for me to apply for the program my sophomore year.

I was so incredibly nervous to tell my parents (why? i dont know. i have the most supportive parents in the world.) Well, when I finally got the nerve up to tell my mom, before I could even start talking my mom pulled out a Buckner magazine and said, "There is a great article in here about a girl who went to Kenya, it made me think of you." And in that moment it was as if God was saying, "Hello, attention to worry wart, I've got this under control".

Then I had my interview and for a month and a half I was just praying that I would be chosen to be on the Africa team, because I truly felt the Lord calling me there. Well, not only was I told that I was going to Kitale, I also found out that I would be the trip leader for my group! A somewhat daunting title, but I know the Lord has placed me here for a purpose.

From there, I have been blessed beyond measure with people sacrificially giving to make this trip possible. Thank you to everyone who supported me financially on this journey, as well as all the prayer warriors who are covering me on this journey. There are no words to express how thankful I am for each and every one of you.

This whole process has been humbling, I feel so inadequate, so undeserving. But also so blessed to be starting this journey. I can't wait to love on God's children in Kitale, and share the grace that is only found in Jesus. I would love for you to continue reading and praying about my journey! I will do my best to keep this blog as updated as my wifi will allow!

"I will sing of Your unfailing love, Eternal One, forever. I will speak of Your faithfulness to all generations.I will tell how Your unfailing love will always stand strong; and how Your faithfulness is established in the heavens above." Psalm 89:1-2

PS: If you don't know of All Sons and Daughters, you need to. Good grief, I cannot tell you how many times I have played this song in prep for this trip. I hope you can find as much truth in it as I was able to.
